Beloved wife, mother and friend

Jean Smith, 77 yrs & 7 months wife of Jerry L Smith, of Boise, passed away August 15th, 2016 in Comfort Care at St. Lukes Hospital in Boise, Idaho. In her life time she resided in many locations throughout the US following her husband's career. Ending in Boise in 1996 to 2016.
Jean was born January 18, 1939 at Murray, Nebraska to Frederick Clay and Edith Louise (Jones) Beverage. As a girl Jean & her 8 siblings lived on the family farm 8 miles from town where there was always ample work for all. Later in her life she lived in Boise, ID and attended Boise High School. Through high school activities, she was introduced to Jerry Smith who she later married. They were married 59 precious years.
Jean worked many years in the banking industry holding every position except a loan officer. She also had her own business and was quite successful at being a Jafra Consultant. Whenever she had spare time as the children were grown, she took different jobs including one at Lagoon Amusement Park in Utah just so all of the her kids & grandkids could have free tickets.
She loved traveling to see new places, especially the ocean. She loved the outdoors and camping. She loved people and getting to visit with them. She has a delightful sense of humor. In 1972 Jean, Jerry and her children joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an avid reader and loved the scriptures and studying the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jean was a loving mother and wife. She is survived by her husband Jerry and five children, Denise Overson, Dannette, (Glen) Clayson, Dale, (Kelli) Smith, Douglas, (LeAnn) Smith, and Dawn, (Clay) Burgess. Also survived by a brother Raymond Beverage, sister JoAnn McAfee, and her Aunt Mary Catherine Stawinski. Also by 20 grandchildren, 5 great-grand children and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
